I was born in 1964 in Manhasset, NY, and have never moved more than five miles from there. As a child, I grew up in neighboring Port Washington, NY, a picturesque natural harbor and sailing thasset, Long Islandown, which, like Manhasset, resides on Long Island's North Shore. After getting married, I returned to Manhasset, where I currently live with my wife and children, and two poodles, Ella and Hudson.
My education and working life are diversified. After graduating from Port Washington High School, I attended Nassau Community College, where I acquired a business degree, and CW Post University, where I graduated with a finance degree. Afterward, I studied real estate at New York University and medicine at Harvard Medical School, where I obtained certificates in various heart-related subjects. When not hitting the books, I worked as a bartender, dock master, and bank teller.
In sum, I spent ten years working as a bartender, another ten on the water, and thirty years in the financial services sector. My jobs and education introduced me to thousands of people who have left an indelible mark on my life. I am grateful to all of them for their contributions.
Throughout my life, I've been affected by mysterious illnesses. So much so that I can't remember the last time I felt healthy. By the time doctors ascertained the problem(s), I was blind in one eye, had both feet amputated, had a 5x heart bypass, and had end-stage kidney failure. It's been one hell of a ride. I feel lucky and grateful to be alive.
I am now retired and fill my days writing stories and telling tales of my adventures on the roads I've traveled. I hope that you find enjoyment in reading them.
